Oaklands Wolves are thrilled to announce the signing of Miriam Carrasco Menendez to the 2023/24 Womens League Team.
The 5’5 Bedfordshire born point guard graduated from the Oaklands College Academy last season, and having made significant contributions over the past two years, has earned a spot on the senior team for the season ahead. Shooting 40% from the field the young guard managed 6.6 points per game in The League last campaign, and will be looking to add to that this year. She said “I am excited to be given the opportunity to suit up with the Wolves again! I want to use this opportunity to improve and demonstrate my abilities as a player and teammate. I’m a student of the game and Oaklands encourages that, and although it’s the same franchise it will be a significant step up for me, but one I am ready to take.”
Coach Ryan elaborated on the players step up by saying “This is what Oaklands is all about; identifying and guiding players that have the capacity and capability to have a long career in the British Basketball League. Miriam has been a standout student athlete at the academy and I’m delighted she will be joining us again this year. Its another opportunity for her to make the next step in what is still the beginning of a long career ahead.”
More announcements will follow, stayed tuned!
