McCray added to complete summer signings

Oaklands have completed their summer roster signings for the 2024/25 season with the addition of Danielle McCray.

The 6’1 forward arrives in the UK from West Palm Beach, FL and brings with her an impressive resume of basketball action from around the world. The former university of Mississippi four year letter winner played in the SEC between 2011 and 2015 appearing in 123 games for the Ole Miss. Since graduating McCray has had seasons in Australia, Spain, Sweden, Lithuania, Puerto Rico and most recently in Germany and the USA.

In the German DBBL last season, with Eigner Angles Noerdlingen, McCray contributed 11.5 ppg and 5.8 rpg on 54% shooting before returning home to the Athletes Unlimited league. Athlete Unlimited has been running since 2022 and McCray has featured in each season to date, with rankings of 19 and 20 in previous years. AU Pro Basketball brings together a selection of 40 of the worlds best players for 4 weeks of unique competition that runs in the run up to the WNBA season.

In 2022 McCray played for Goldfields in Australia putting up 17.6 points and 8.3 rebounds, which is where Coach Ryan first saw the player, he recalls “Danielle is someone I saw scouring Australia a few years back and was very impressed with her consistency and ability to influence games. I’m excited we are in a position to add a player with her accomplished resume, her experience is going to be crucial to this seasons campaign and I’m looking forward to her influence across the entire Oaklands program.

You can see Danielle and the rest of the Wolves in action on Sunday September 29th when they host Leicester at Oaklands College Sportszone at 6pm.
